Andy Raichle Interviewed About NJ Windport on WTBQ

Florham Park, NJ — Andy Raichle, P.E., Vice President, Matrix New World Engineering Matrix), was a recent guest on WTBQ’s ‘The Frank Truatt Morning Drive’ show, where he spoke about Matrix’s involvement with the first in the nation, offshore NJ Windport, as well as recycling materials, and landfills.
He discussed the impact this Windport will have on New Jersey such as improvement to the environment and a boost in the workforce with added jobs.
Recently, the State of New Jersey and PSEG joined forces to develop the Nation’s first offshore wind production port.
According to Andy, “New Jersey has the best wind resource in the country.”
The plan is for New Jersey to partake in the addition of these windports that will be installed along the East coast.
Furthermore, Andy spoke about the potential harmful impacts of plastic to the Earth and our dependence on plastic today. The materials that they will be using for the ports “last a couple of decades… and there are all kinds of recyclable components.”
The facility, on 200 acres adjoining the Salem County nuclear-power complex, will be the nation’s first purpose-built onshore site for servicing an industry that’s key to achieving the Murphy administration’s clean-energy goals and contributing to a global target of cutting carbon emissions.
