Ongoing In-Situ Treatment Solutions
Matrix was retained to provide ongoing environmental services for the investigation and remediation of soil and groundwater at a former industrial facility located in Northern, NJ. The scope of work consists of a variety of tasks related to the ongoing ISRA case for the site including Additional soil and groundwater characterization, Assessment of potential vapor intrusion issues related to the TCE impacts, Aquifer characterization via slug tests and tracers tests, and Evaluation of an innovative, in-situ treatment technology for groundwater using nano-scale zero valent iron.
As a result of the past activities at the Site, a plume of groundwater impacted with TCE has migrated off the property. As a result, the client and the NJDEP became very concerned regarding the potential for vapor intrusion (VI) issues. To that end, Matrix was tasked to implement a multi-phased assessment approach for the VI matters. This work included assessment of the existing data, developing a conceptual site model for the migration of the groundwater and soil vapor impacts, a utility survey, and developing a Wok plan for submittal to the NJDEP.
