New Jersey Wind Port

Compliance & Construction for a Sustainable Future

Matrix is providing construction administration, regulatory compliance monitoring, potable water design, and permitting for the New Jersey Wind Port project. The Wind Port will be a first-in-the nation manufacturing and marshalling facility for offshore wind infrastructure installations. The Port construction includes deepwater/heavy capacity berths, navigation channel dredging, and upland infrastructure for manufacturing facilities.

Matrix has several roles on the project.  Our water group is evaluating the necessity for new potable and industrial water supplies to serve the future manufacturing facilities, including demand evaluations, existing system capacity, design of supplementary well systems and permitting. Our environmental and regulatory groups are assisting Tishman with construction administration by providing monitoring of the contractor’s regulatory compliance as it relates to local, state, and federal permits issued for the project. Our dredging specialists will provide construction administration and inspection for the project’s mechanical dredging component, including oversight of compliance with technical specifications, monitoring of aquatic conditions during the work, and the dewatering/upland disposal activities.

Matrix, along with other teaming partners, was chosen to receive the “New Jersey’s Leading Capital Construction Project” award from New Jersey Alliance for Action in 2022 for our work on this project.
