Fairless Hills Processing Plant Laser Scanning

Industrial Facility Scanning Services

Matrix provided High-Definition Laser Scanning (HDS) services at the recently constructed wet processing plant located in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania. The facility consists of four levels with approximately 19,000 square feet. The purpose of the scan was to identify as-built existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) features to be used for the proposed design and construction of another plant in Reserve, Oregon.

The scan was performed using a Leica C-10 High Definition Laser Scanner System (HDS) which produced a resolved point cloud of the entire wet processing plant including conveyors, structure, tanks, piping, filter press, and platform. The 3D rendering/REVIT model was utilized by the mechanical design team for the assessment of site constraints and the placement of the proposed features. Matrix is still in the process of providing survey, design, and construction management services for the required construction layout activities of the plant.
