Hazmat Identification
Matrix developed a phased approach to ConEd’s manhole lead analysis initiative based on statistical design and targeted sampling. This allowed the client to cost-effectively assess the totality of this asset category and responsibly handle waste accordingly, with the goal of narrowing the number of sites that are treated as generating hazardous waste with a high degree of confidence, thereby minimizing risk.
Matrix compiled digital data relating to location, age, type and contents of locatable structures. Historic sampling records pertaining to TCLP lead were linked to these locations, mapped, and analyzed to determine correlation to structures containing lead features. This helped determine the necessary structures to be sampled.
