Pfister Chemical Site Remediation, Ridgefield, New Jersey

Matrix New World Engineering (Matrix) provided engineering, multimedia investigations, and site remediation construction services on the client’s former facility in Bergen County, northern New Jersey. The site consists of approximately 19.2 acres of vacant land located in the northern portion of Ridgefield Borough. Formerly utilized by Pfister Chemical Inc., the site was a chemical manufacturing facility from approximately 1936 to 2002 when operations ceased. The property is divided into two areas consisting of a former waste lagoon and a former plant manufacturing area. As part of closure activities, the wastewater lagoon was filled, confined by a soil-bentonite barrier wall, and covered with an impermeable cap. The plant manufacturing facility’s equipment was removed, and all buildings/structures were demolished.  More >
